Prices And Lesson Policies

We request all students, or parents or guardians of students, please read the following guidelines carefully and completely.  Thank you!

Monthly Lesson Rates:

$25.00 Registration Fee per student will hold your slot!

$75.00 per month for one half-hour lesson per week (4 or 5 weeks in a month).  All lesson fees are paid by direct auto debit monthly for your convenience.  If you desire to pay by cash or check we ask for the first and last month's tuition payment.  We do not ask for a long term commitment, rather a monthly one, with 30 day written notice if you decide to withdraw.

Each additional student in an immediate family, or each additional half-hour taken by the same student, is offered a $10.00 discount per second half hour, making the rate for one hour  $140.00 per month.

Single lesson prices: $25.00 per half hour. $45.00 per hour  (by appointment only!)

Consultation Fee:  $30.00 per half hour/$55.00 per hour. (by appointment only!)  Payment due when services rendered.

All monthly lesson payments are due and payable at or prior to the time of the first monthly lesson. Those starting lessons in the middle of a month will have a standard pro-rated fee for number of lessons remaining in the month. We do not bill for lessons unless payment is in arrears.

Make-Up Lessons:

No make-up lessons are given for a missed lesson in any five lesson month, as you are only charged for four lessons each month!

We do not generally give make-up lessons for private instruction 9due to the extremely tight schedules of our teachers) except in emergency situations, such as sickness or visit to the doctor, dentist or emergency trips out of town, etc.  We can give a make-up lesson if time and scheduling allow with at least a 24 hour minimum notice, if possible.  The more notice given the greater the likelihood of receiving a makeup.  We are flexible and will try to accommodate you!

Calling at the last minute, or for pleasure trips or functions you choose to attend rather than come to your lesson, is your choice. "No shows" or just plain forgetting do not necessitate a make-up lesson nor will one be offered.

You may leave us a message at any time by calling 903-581-5461  24 hours a day; leave a voice mail message in the general mailbox or press 2# for an instructor's voice mailbox.  The answering system generally picks up when you call throughout the day to avoid constant interruption of lessons we are teaching. This does not mean we are not here---we are just teaching! We check our messages each morning so, to be sure we receive it in time, we request a minimum of 24 hours notice whenever possible.  We value your time and other commitments and appreciate you valuing ours, as well.

We do not give or offer refunds for any missed lessons or “no shows”. The full lesson fee is due once you have reserved your lesson time slot whether you show up or not. Your instructor has already blocked off that time just for you and is sitting waiting to teach you whether or not you show up. Thank you for understanding! We do not offer or give refunds for any unused portion of your monthly tuition if you choose to drop out during a month.

Recitals and additional performance opportunities:

We have at least two recitals each year, in December and June. In order for your child to participate in any recital or performance, they must be registered and taking lessons for the entire month for which the activity is scheduled.  We give out beautiful trophies for the number of years of study completed at Psalmist Music during the December recital and awards ceremony.  We also give out a number of other awards and certificates, as well, believing that recognition of accomplishment is extremely important in  encouraging young people to excel at their selected instrument or vocal endeavor!

If you choose to drop out for a month or two, or the entire summer,  your student will lose his or her eligibility for the trophies we give for uninterrupted years of study at Psalmist School of Music. He or she will simply start over when you return; only those who stay in the entire year receive a medallion or trophy at the end of the year. We work very hard to make arrangements to fit each student's needs and requirements for vacation time. We always strive to make our awards as fair as possible. If you have any questions please contact your teacher.  Remember: To gain the most from your musical experience~ it is essential to attend your regular weekly lesson without interruption, as much as possible!  Parents, please see our Student Handbook for ideas to help you maintain your student's habit of practice. We want to make your musical education fun and profitable for you!

Thanks for choosing Psalmist School of Music!
